As we were walking home from the last day of school I was singing that with all the kids. It was pretty fun.

We ended the school year well. Andy and I had two weeks of camp at the preschool. He loved every minute of it. We got to pick up his friend Cole and drive him to camp with us. They were hilarious in the back seat having 3 year old conversations! One day Andy says "Where is your Mom? The one with the sunglasses? Does she have a headache?" Cole says "what's a headache?" Andy answers "A headache is what my Daddy gets. Then he has to take a nap." Cole says what makes a headache?" Andy says "Headaches come from Evan!"
The elementary all school party/field day was fun. The 1st-4th graders all go the neighborhood pool for the day. The kindergarten AM and PM classes stay behind at the school. The kindergarten plays games and parties, then they eat lunch in the school cafeteria for the first time.

The teachers show them how to go through the line, where to sit and what to do when they are done. Then they got to see a magic show. Evan had a great time.Meanwhile at the pool Gabi was having so much fun with her friends. They play field day type games and then eat a picnic lunch. Then they played in the pool.

They had a DJ. Every now and then the DJ would play a group dance song and all of these wet kids would line up and start dancing. The Cha Cha Slide was hilarious.

Gabi and Evan had to go to school one more week than Andy and I. That week ended up being pretty busy. One morning the second grade had a pancake breakfast. The day before, another mother and I went to Costco to pick up supplies. The morning of the breakfast was fun. I made up a make your own fruit salad buffet line. The kids did great filling their bowls with watermelon, grapes, blueberries, and strawberries. Meanwhile the teachers were flipping up pancake after pancake. They told the kids that the record was 6 pancakes so many of the kids set out to beat the record. Some of them were eating them whole like it was a real eating contest. One girl ate 14! If the teachers are smart, they tell them the record is 6 every year. Otherwise somebody is going to throw up! Gabi only ate two. She was full of fruit.
After school let out on the last day some other moms and I treated the kids to Rita's. They enjoyed their water ice, but enjoyed playing tag behind the building more.

Since school has been out we have been enjoying the pool each day. Andy is learning to swim with out his swim vest. Today he was doing back dives off my hands into the deep with no swim vest. He would flip in the water and swim back to me. This kid amazes me.

The big kids are doing more and more off the diving board. Gabi can dive pretty well now. One day she was in line with a bunch of teenage boys and they were all doing flips. When she stepped up I saw the wheel churning in her head. She whispered something to herself and then went for it. She doesn't know how to get any air off the board yet so it was basically a forward roll into the water. But pretty good for her first try. She tries about once a day, but says it hurts her back. (most of the time she lands on her back)

We also had a fun Father's Day. We bought Band Hero for Daddy. The kids LOVE playing the drums and singing in the microphone. After they went to bed we had some adult concerts too!
We are headed south tomorrow!
