Gabi's Day

My baby girl turns six today. We had a great weekend celebrating her birthday. Her Oma and Opa came down to attend the party. We went to breakfast at her favorite restaurant, “you know the one where you can pick your own food!”

Then on Sunday we had our very first invite your whole class to the house birthday party. It was supposed to take place outside with the trampoline as a main attraction. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas. We quickly destroyed the piƱata under the cover of trees before the rain really took over.

So we moved inside and all was well. It was a Hannah Montana party and she got a karaoke machine from Nanni and Pops. The girls had a blast with this.

The boys broke out the Wii and played Mario Kart for awhile. The girls decorated Hannah pillowcases

and the boys colored their own posterboard guitars. The kids seemed to have a great time. They were all well behaved and everyone got along. Several times throughout the day Gabi said, “this is the best day ever”.

That’s a great feeling as a parent. After the party she desperately wanted to cook with the Easy Bake oven she got from Oma and Opa but I had a soccer game and then had to make cookie cakes for her to take to school. So I promised that would happen today.

I can’t believe its been six years since my “best day ever” The day she made me a mom!
