Pep Rally and mini sleepover

Last night we attended our first pep rally since high school. The youth football program held a pep rally for all the football players and cheerleaders. It was packed. It was loud. It was chaos. It was great. They had all the cheerleaders come in and do a few "we got spirit how bout you" cheers to get the crowd going. The President spoke a little about the league and introduced the board. The finicial backers were given awards and then the fun began. They went by age group and the cheer leaders would do a cheer and then the corresponding football team would burst through the banner and run around the gym. So the flag girls went first and then Evan's team burst through. He said it hurt to break thru. I guess nobody told them not to use their face! There were so many kids they had to do more than one banner for each age group. Gabi's age group went next. They did a cheer and then part of their half time cheer which includes and stunt. Gabi is medium sized. Not the smallest so not a flyer. Not the biggest so not support. That leaves "spotter". So she is hard to see. She is in the back and then is spotting the girl on top. She loved every minute of being in front of a big crowd though! They played loud music as the boys ran around. It really was fun.

Tonight we had a mini sleepover. My kids' best friends are X and A. Their dad is an actor. He was in a play tonight and X wanted to go see it. So A stayed with us. The girls did make up and crafts and dress up and had dessert. Then they were concerned that they were up too late so they got ready for bed and went to sleep at the dreadful hour of 8:45. :0) A's parents then picked her up at 11:30. They were so cute. We will have to do it again!
