We hit the pick your own section of the farm first. They had every kind of apples I have heard of and many I hadn't heard of. We went with honey crisp to start. The kids picked and picked and filled a basket. Evan was very worried about the bees at first. We kept telling him they just wanted the fallen apples and he eventually came around. Some of the big ones were so tall even Daddy couldn't reach. But Andy lifted up above Daddy could get even the highest!
There were tractors giving people rides up and down the orchard. Andy was determined he was going to ride one. But no matter how many times the kids tried to wave one down they never stopped for us.
After apples and raspberries and cherry tomatoes we paid for all of our pick your own fruit. Andy was eating everything before we could pay for it. We only found a few good tomatoes left and he ate then all before we paid so we had to confess and ask how much four cherry tomatoes would weigh. Chad wanted black berries and raspberries and Andy was eating those by the fist full. Chad had to beat him back with a stick and hide them to get home with some.
As we walked down to the "store" they had a kiddie fun land set up. There was a kiddie tractor train ride which Andy jumped right on and I made the big kids ride with him. There was a big barn made of hay with a slide to get out. There was a fun zip line. Gabi loved it. I didn't let Evan try because of his elbow. There was a race course set up with these big off road tricycles. They were great and the kids loved them, but when I checked the price tag at the store they were $179 each.
We then went in the store and had fun with all the natural food. The kids tried fresh apple cider and they all tried a piece of fudge. We bought cider for everyone, a piece of apple candy for each kid, honey roasted peanuts, bavarian pecans, carrots, grape tomatoes, blackberries, a package of apple crisp mix and a jar of spicy mustard and paid $14.
We were going to try a famous amish country buffet that was nearby but we were all full from snacking on fruits and veggies and the buffet was $20 per adult plus $10 per kid so we just drove on home.
