Gabi's Bday the celebration

Gabi's birthday was a week long event.

The weekend before the big day, Oma and Opa came to celebrate. We started the weekend with softball and baseball games. Gabi had her best game yet. She got to try pitching and picked it up quickly. She almost caught a pop fly and then beat the runner to the bag. The girls all went shopping to get some party supplies. We had a spaghetti supper and then presents with fruit pizza. Gabi got cash from Oma and Opa and Aunt Steph and Uncle Jon. She was so excited to get her own money. She also got the big top cupcake mold. She had been begging for and some of her favorite books and a cute dress. She couldn't wait to try out the big top cupcake so we decided to use it to make her cake for her party.

Shady Maple is a huge Smorgasbord that everyone around here raves about but we had never tried. It was a huge hit. The food was great and they were all thrilled to pick out whatever they wanted. We drove back home and once again the girls headed out shopping. We finished party prep and found Gabi a swim suit. She tried on about a hundred. Then we went home for cookies and presents. Gabi was happy to get a swim suit and towel, three outfits, the perfect brownie pan, and some new shoes. We hope to try out the brownie pan this weekend.

Wednesday was the actual big day. I made her scrambled eggs for breakfast and we said goodbye to Nanni and Pops before school. I took Gabi her requested cookie cake for a treat to share with her class. After school we had softball. Gabi took cookie cupcakes to share with her team. She had to the dinner she chose of pizza, cheese-balls and applesauce. Then we did family presents. The boys got her a sno cone machine. We have had sno cones about every day since! Finally the week ended with her big sleepover party. We had nine girls including Gabi. Chad took the boys to baseball and ice cream to keep them out of the house. One of the younger girls wanted her mom to stay and she volunteered to help me out with the party. We made T-shirts, had sno cones, did make overs and painted nails, temporary tattoos were applied, ate cake and ice cream, bounced on the trampoline, opened presents, watched a movie, ate popcorn, and finally went to sleep. Gabi had a great time and the exhaustion was worth it.

Glad I have 5 months until the boys' birthdays!
