We have been busy with paperwork so I have not had time to be on here. I think we are done with everything we have control over. Birth certificates and marriage certificates were ordered and delivered. Police clearences were ordered and delivered. FBI fingerprint check is back. Letters of reference, letters of application, auto biographies (5 pages long), are all written and notarized. We have proof of everything: health, ( I had to pee in a cup with my notary standing by. Long embarrasing story), employment, health insurance, life insurance, guardianship for kids, financial history, residential history. And on and on and on!
So now what?!?!?!
We send the first packet of documents in to our social worker to start the home study process. When she receives our paperwork she will make an appointment to come out for the actual home study. We will then meet at least two more times either here or at her office. After that she will write the official homestudy report. This becomes part of our dossier.
We have been collecting documents for the dossier along the way. We think we have everything we need. After the homestudy is complete we have to mail our notarized documents along with an I600A form to the USCIS. Approval from the USCIS is in the form of an I171H. After this is in our hands we can submit our dossier to the PA Secretary of State for certification. When we receive this back, we can submit our dossier to the agency to be translated and sent to Ethiopia. It is at this point that we would be placed on the waiting list for our little Hope.
Got it???? Yeah me either. But we have plenty of help along the way. Thanks for your support!
