The teachers in our school district start their year off nice. Today for the first day of in service, every teacher in the district (over 1000) were in attendance at the high school. Their morning started out with breakfast. Then they gathered in the auditorium. The marching band (state champs 4 years running) played to start the morning. The cheer leaders came out to get everyone fired up. An amazing quartet of seniors who placed first in competition last year sang the national anthem. The principal of the high school spoke. The superintendent spoke. And then best of all (for this proud parent), a choir of 25 students selected from the whole district k-12 sang the song "You raise me up". I left after that. (wasn't really invited). But I think that is a neat way to start the year!
Gabi is unfortunately (for me) kind of hidden behind the senior soloist.
