Then early on the Wednesday before we were to leave, Evan came down with the evil stomach bug (or Wilson plague) that has been taking us down one by one. He had a really really rough night Tuesday into Wednesday and rested all day. We decided not to drive on Thursday as planned, but to wait until Friday and make sure everyone was OK. We packed the car Thursday night and then Gabi woke up sick at 1 am.
Saturday everyone seemed fine and we drove to NY. Everybody was eating at lunch and we seemed to be doing well. We had missed Taylor's game and most of Tory's tournament, but we were able to go watch him wrestle in the finals. He was the Number one seed wrestling a senior he had beaten once this season 1-0 in triple overtime. It was another close match, but Tory went down 3-2. With some exceptionally bad calls from the refs. Tory was able to get the alternate place at the state tournament. He is the sixth seed!!!! Due to the time of the match, the kids ate lots of snacks, but no real dinner.
Sunday morning Opa made heart shaped pancakes for Valentine's day. Andy was served his pancakes and quickly yelled. "NO. Dont put hairspray on them!!!"
There was also bacon and sausage, Evans favorites. But he sat down looked at his plate and said he wasn't hungry. Pretty soon he ran to the bathroom and got sick. He went upstairs and showered, but said he felt great and was hungry now. We decided he had eaten too much junkfood and his tummy wasn't ready for it. That evening we had a birthday party for Chad. The kids had a great time playing with their cousin Jackson.
Chad and I woke up Monday exhausted from everyone being sick and decided to just get in the car and drive home.
God sent us 4 feet of snow and a plague to prevent us from making the trip and we decided to go anyway. Bad Choice!!! We love our family and really wanted to spend time with them. It just wasn't worth it to expose everyone to our plague and get ourselves so run down.
