They had water guns and hoses and took cover in the playhouse. They also had the slip n slide going. Wet fun on a warm day. The grown ups played some Kan Jam and ladder golf.
OMa was the star of ladder golf. She was repeatedly bouncing her balls off the ground onto the 3 point ring. Everyone thought this was cheating so I finally pulled out the instructions. Turns out not only was it NOT cheating. Bouncing them off the ground made them worth 5 points!
We followed all the gaming up with a cook out. Aunt Steph made taco burgers. Very yummy. We will be stealing that recipe. And we had yummy fruit and OMa's corn salad. Another recipe that needs to be repeated.
The kids played outside some more. We did presents and cake pops for Jackson.
Then Uncle Jon started a bon fire. Of course smores were had by all.
He had the extra large marshmallows too!
After the bon fire the five of us went chasing fire works. We ended up pulling over in a random parking lot and watching. We had a pretty decent view and the place all to ourselves.
The only thing missing from this day was the presence of our newest nephew. He decided to hang out in Mommy a little while longer. Grayson made his appearance on July 15. He did not come quietly. If only this precious little boy knew how much his parents went through to get him here. Grayson is doing great. I can't wait to get my hands on that baby!
