Wilson kids say the darndest things

Each of my kids has made us laugh lately:

Gabi has always been an early riser. She is known to wake up at 5:30 and be awake for the day. When she was about three we made the rule that neither she nor her brother could leave their bedroom until 7:00 each morning. So she waits until her clock says 7:00 exactly and then comes out. A few days ago she came upstairs and said "Daddy when I opened my eyes this morning it was 7:02." To which daddy replied "Wow you really slept in huh?" Gabi: "Yeah, I did!"

We have never in ten years of marriage had a Christmas morning at home. Because of the way the kids' (and therefore my) holiday break falls this year, we will stay home and do Christmas morning and then leave for NY. As a result of never being here we never hung up stockings. And stockings at the grandparents houses just appeared on Christmas morning. So I went out and bought some and hung them up last week. Evan walks in and says "Mommy why did you buy us new socks?" Me: "Huh?" Evan: "The big red socks hanging in here"

We have now nicknamed Andy "Houdini". When the other kids were toddlers we put the over the door handle child proof covers on the inside of their bedroom doors to keep them in at night. We did the same with Andy when he got his big boy bed. BUT... he can take them off. Have you ever tried? Its really hard. So he shows up in our room in the mornings sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 every day. And this conversation follows:

Andy: "my paci" Mommy: "Where is it" Andy: "my big boy bed. Mama det it, me?" Mommy: "No Mama is sleeping" Andy: "Daddy det it my paci, me?" Daddy: "OK but it will cost you a kiss" Andy: "Yeah Mama Yeah! Daddy det it me"

The following are some pictures from Chad's work family holiday party. Due to the economy they really scaled it down this year. But the kids still had fun.
