We had a great week at the shore. We again stayed at the Dimitri's shore house near Cape May. They have a great house they have fixed up beautifully.
The first thing the kids wanted to do was "Boogie" as Andy said it. The water that day was perfect. Waves big enough to ride in but not too big to play in. They all had a blast.
Andy liked to ride the boogie board, but didn't like it when the waves made him fall and get smothered. So I would take him past the breakers and velcro the board to my arm and let him float on the waves. He liked to fall off on purpose and swim back. Then he decided he could surf by standing up. It took a little work on both of our parts but he did it. Of course afterwards he had to cannonball off the board!Like that can happen when one parent is there with three kids. But someday I will!!
Gabi's enjoys everything, but her favorite is building sand castles!

Evan LOVES to ride the waves. He is a strong swimmer and has a great time in the water!

Andy loves running and jumping the waves. His favorite thing though is for me to dig him a hole near the ocean that fills with water. Then he jumps in it until the water is gone.

Chad came to meet us on Thursday. A storm came in over night and it was still drizzling in the morning. So as it cleared up we headed to the beach around noon. When we got there the waves were the biggest I had seen. This picture turned out blurry but is the only one I took. Showing it so you can see the waves. Chad is in the foam after getting obliterated by one. Evan is standing in the wave for perspective. You can see it loom far above his head. And this was not near the biggest one. It was too rough for Andy to even get wet. Gabi tried going out once but got tossed by a wave and came in. Chad went out a couple times. I took Evan out twice. He loved it. But it was very tiring because he couldn't touch the ground. I had a blast and got a great workout swimming through the waves. We didn't stay long since it wasn't very fun for the kids.
The kids and Daddy then took me out to dinner to a fun place to eat outside on the bay. We had a great family dinner and I got to take pictures of the kids on the bay!

On Friday we woke up and cleaned out the house. Then we went to the Zoo. It was really nice and FREE! We were all pretty tired from a long week and it was hot and humid so we just walked the zoo one time looking as we walked. Then we headed out to have a picnic lunch. The kids favorite animal was the snow owl that looked liked Hedwig from Harry Potter.
After the zoo we went to the boardwalk. We didn't let the kids ride anything because we have tickets to return to Hershey Park soon. But they each got $10 to spend. Gabi and Evan played a couple of the carnival games. Andy played in the arcade. Then we all got boardwalk junkfood. I got funnel cake which we all shared including the seagull who stole a hunk. The kids all got Dippin Dots. Chad got fried oreos. We got upgraded from a small to large meaning 8 oreos fried and covered in powdered sugar. The kids and I all turned them down. Chad did his best but had to throw a few away.
Then we headed home. To lots of laundry!!
